G23 medical titan
We do not rely solely on declarations. We regularly verify our titanium jewelry in an independent laboratory for its actual chemical composition. Thanks to this, you can be sure that the earring you wear directly in the freshly pierced place actually meets the standards for medical titanium.
Information
Test results - chemical composition of the G23 alloy
Test results - chemical composition of the G23 alloy
The measured sample composition is within all limits required by the EN ISO 5832-3:2021 standard:
- Aluminum (Al): result 5.70% with a required range of 5.50-6.75%
- Vanadium (V): result 3.87% with a required range of 3.50-4.50%
- Iron (Fe): result 0.038% with a permissible maximum of 0.30%
- Carbon (C): result 0.019% with a maximum allowed of 0.08%
- Oxygen (O): result 0.062% with a maximum allowed of 0.20%
- Nitrogen (N): result 0.0054% with a permissible maximum of 0.05%
- Hydrogen (H): result 0.0056% with a permissible maximum of 0.015%
- Titanium (Ti): alloy matrix
The laboratory's conclusion is clear: the tested sample complies with the requirements of the EN ISO 5832-3:2021 standard for the G23 grade (Ti-6Al-4V) in terms of chemical composition. Conformity assessment was carried out in accordance with the principle of simple acceptance according to ISO/IEC GUIDE 98-4 and ILAC-G8:09/2019.
Why is this important to you?
Why is this important to you?
A freshly pierced place is an open wound that is in direct contact with metal for many weeks. Jewelry made of uncertified or contaminated "titanium" (e.g. with excessive nickel or iron content) may cause irritation, contact allergies and prolong healing. G23 titanium is one of the materials recommended by professional piercers as biocompatible and well tolerated by the body, precisely because its chemical composition is strictly defined by the standard.
When you buy jewelry with a confirmed certificate, you know that:
- the earring is made of real G23 titanium alloy, not a cheaper substitute sold under the same name,
- the content of elements such as iron, carbon and oxygen is within safe, standardized limits,
- the quality of the material has been verified by an external, independent laboratory, and not only declared by the manufacturer.
What is Tytan G23 (Ti-6Al-4V)?
What is Tytan G23 (Ti-6Al-4V)?
It is a titanium alloy with the addition of approximately 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium, used, among others, in medical implants and high-quality piercing jewelry due to good biocompatibility, corrosion resistance and low weight.
